It’s still November, which means we’re still crazy about steelhead. And few patterns are as effective – albeit nontraditional – as the sucker spawn. Truth be told, the pattern is great at catching trout too, especially around Pennsylvania streams.

Fly fishing purists might not agree with this pattern, but the Black Gnats are far from purists. To us, it’s all about catching fish! It’s not beneath us to use nymphs, streamers, terrestrials … heck, we’ve even got pinch-on floats! So what?
