This video has been making the rounds this past week on the internet. We’re certainly not the first website/blog to feature this video, and we’re not going to be the last. Take one look (if you haven’t already) and you’ll quickly see why.

Simon Perkins – of Sharptail Media – was in New Zealand on his honeymoon when he captured the amazing footage above. As he puts it himself, in a post on the Orvis blog last week …

My wife and I were fishing with friend/guide Dean Whaanga in New Zealand when a combination of bad weather and good timing resulted in a fish giving us the experience of a lifetime. I crawled on my stomach with my camera to the water’s edge, hit record, and watched what was one of the coolest moments I have ever witnessed.

It was such a quick and huge success that even Tightlines Productions recently released a tying video in reaction. Matt Grobert – of the Caddis Chronicles – shows everyone how to tie a damsel pattern similar to (if not better than) the one seen in Simon’s video.
